Terms of trade
These terms apply to every quotation, order and sale by ZuluSteel Holdings (Private) Limited unless we have signed something different with you. They are written to be read, not to be survived.
1. Quotations
- Quotations are valid for seven days from the date of issue unless a different period is stated on the face of the quotation.
- Prices are subject to stock being unsold at the time the order is confirmed. Where the mill or import price moves before an order is placed, we will requote rather than silently amend.
- Quantities and masses given in a quotation, on this website, or by any estimator on this website are nominal and given for ordering purposes only.
2. Prices and tax
- All prices are exclusive of Value Added Tax, which is added at the prevailing standard rate of 16%.
- Prices are quoted in United States Dollars. Zimbabwe Gold amounts are converted at the rate posted at the branch on the day of invoice.
- A ZIMRA fiscal receipt is issued for every sale at the point of sale.
3. Payment
- Cash sales are payable in full before goods are released.
- Approved account customers trade on thirty days from statement. Accounts in arrears are placed on hold without further notice.
- Ownership of goods passes only on receipt of payment in full. Risk passes on delivery or on collection, whichever occurs first.
4. Delivery and collection
- Delivery dates are given in good faith and are estimates. We are not liable for consequential loss arising from a late delivery.
- Offloading at site is the customer's responsibility unless a crane truck has been booked and priced with the order.
- The customer must notify us of restricted access, soft ground, low cables or length restrictions before dispatch. Abortive delivery costs caused by undisclosed site conditions are for the customer's account.
- Goods collected must be within the legal carrying capacity and length of the collecting vehicle. We reserve the right to refuse to load an unsuitable vehicle.
5. Mass, measurement and certification
- Sales are by mass unless the item is sold by piece, length, sheet or roll.
- Mass is determined on our weighbridge and the ticket accompanies the delivery note.
- Mill certificates are available on request per heat number and must be requested at the time of order.
- Rolling and forming tolerances are those of the relevant standard for the product.
6. Processing
- Cutting, folding, punching, profiling and bending are carried out to the dimensions supplied by the customer. The customer is responsible for the correctness of any drawing, DXF file, cutting list or bar bending schedule supplied.
- Processed material is made to order and is not returnable.
- Where nesting is applied, offcut and drop remain our property unless specifically purchased and stated on the order.
7. Claims and returns
- Claims relating to quantity, mass or visible damage must be made within 48 hours of delivery or collection and noted on the delivery note.
- Unprocessed stock material in resaleable condition may be returned within seven days with the original invoice, subject to a handling charge.
- Processed, cut, formed and special-order material is not returnable.
8. Design and fitness for purpose
- We are a merchant and processor. We do not carry out structural design.
- Selection of grade, section, gauge, mesh reference and bar size remains the responsibility of the customer and the customer's engineer.
- Estimators on this website assist with ordering quantities. They are not a design tool and must not be relied on as one.
9. Information on this website
- Product tables on this site give nominal masses calculated from section geometry at a density of 7 850 kg/m³. Published masses apply to rolled sections.
- Stock indications are a guide to normal stocking policy, not a live stock position. Confirm availability with the branch before relying on it.
- Rate card prices apply for the period stated, at the branches stated, and while stock lasts.
10. Data protection
- Personal information supplied through this website is used to prepare and follow up your quotation and to administer your account.
- We process personal information in accordance with the Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07].
- We do not sell customer information. Contact the trade desk to be removed from the rate card distribution list at any time.
11. Governing law
- These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe, and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Zimbabwe.
- These terms may be amended from time to time. The version published at zulusteel.co.zw at the date of your order applies to that order.
